TRAINING
1978 – 1981 Roehampton Institute. University of London BA Hons degree Fine Art
STUDIO
I work from my studio in a converted cowshed on an organic farm in Child Okeford in Dorset.
As a landscape artist I am absorbed with light and the way it changes and defines places, constantly transforming the same piece of land, wood or coastline. This changing quality of light against the permanence and stillness of the landscape are central to my work – clouds across a hill, flashes of light through woods or shadows along a track.
I work mainly in mixed media; paints, collage, crayon, inks, wax and resin. I experiment with combinations of materials and techniques, often incorporating printed elements from etchings, monoprints or collagraphs into the work.
RUNNING WORKSHOPS
I run workshops throughout the year at my studio and various other venues in Dorset. As a member of the Dorset Coppice Group I often run days in our wonderful log cabin up in the woods at Durweston. Workshops include a wide range of painting, drawing and printmaking techniques.
