Beth Pickett CV

Recent Experience

Artist in Residence | Marlborough College| Current

In my current role, I am funded to work as a full-time artist, while teaching and promoting my specialism in the School. Currently introducing screen printing to the school, I am enjoying experimenting with screen printing, relief printing, wood engraving, dry point and metal engraving. In my current work, I am exploring the relationship between image, music and text in the context of nature, inspired by poetry and art theorists such as Roland Barthes. In my work with students, I work on tutoring, curation of exhibitions, and welcoming visitors to my studio.

Printmaking assistant Internship | Cambridge School of Art| 5 weeks, May 2024

I was privately tutored in intaglio printmaking. I also experimented with new print making chemicals, creating tests and reference strips to be used in the running of the print room. I was also taught some of the skills needed to become a print room technician.

IVP Publishing Internship | IVP| 3 weeks, July 2024

I worked for Intervarsity Press, in their London office, helping with their social media, book cover design, and editorial work, including writing blog posts, and reading and suggesting edits for their manuscripts.
