The Arborealists Membership Rules as of November 2021
Categories of membership and capping
Membership is now capped at 50 members
A new Associate Membership category is capped at 20 members
New Membership Process
All applications for Associate Membership will be viewed online by current members and voted on anonymously online.
Each candidate will need to secure at least 60% of those members who voted, to become elected as Associate Member.
Memberships will pay a £50 subscription per year.
Membership rules
Minimum participation for both Associates and full MembersMinimum participation for both Associates and full Members will be to show work at the annual Exhibition and at least one other exhibition over a two-year period. Members and Associate members who fail to honour this rule will therefore leave the group by non-participation.
Exhibitions will be made up of Members and Associate Members.
Application process for election to Associate Member
Candidates must be proposed and seconded by current Members of The Arborealists. Nominations must be secured in advance of applying.
Each candidate should submit:
6 images of works - each file should be no more than 2MB, 100-150 dpi
a current CV (no more than two pages A4)
a statement of no more than 150 words, detailing why the candidate wishes to join and what they would bring to The Arborealists.
CVs and Statements should be submitted on Word document files only and images should be submitted as jpeg files. Please note PDF files will not be accepted for documents or image files. Documentation can be forwarded to The Arborealists once a nomination has been received and acknowledged from the proposer.
After 2 years, Associate Members may be voted to full Membership of The Arborealists dependent on vacancies at the next AGM by a simple majority of those Members present.
If there are more Associate Members voted on than places available, then the number of votes cast will decide who becomes a full Member, successful candidates scoring the higher number of votes.
These procedures and rules may be reviewed.
